How the Oscillating Pump Works
Oscillating pumps operate with an electromagnetic drive that sets an elastomer piston in motion. The coil in the drive is energised with 60 pulses per second. With each pulse the piston is attracted and then returned to its starting position by a spring. With every movement the medium is drawn in and discharged again by switching the valve control – creating a directed, continuous flow of liquid.
Materials
The pumps are made from FDA-listed materials for use in the food industry. Many models additionally offer NSF-certified materials. The wetted materials used are EPDM, FKM, butyl and glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene.
Valve Options
- Poppet valve: optimum priming capability, prevents backflow, maximises efficiency
- Two-piece valves: better control of the liquid flow at higher flow rates
Both valve types can be installed on the discharge or inlet side as required.
