Precise Pressure Loss and Kv Value Measurement on Our In-House Test Bench

On its in-house test bench, VENTAIX determines pressure losses and Kv values of valves up to DN150 in accordance with EN 60534-2-3. The measurement results provide the basis for designing valves more efficiently, reducing operating costs and improving the energy efficiency of installations.

Standard-Compliant Test Bench Measurement

On our in-house test bench we can determine pressure losses and Kv values of valves up to a nominal size of DN150 in accordance with EN 60534-2-3. Standard-compliant measurement enables a precise assessment of the flow capacity and the flow resistance of valves and fittings. As the test bench is permanently installed on our premises, measurements can be carried out promptly without you having to rely on external test laboratories or long lead times.

What the Kv Value Tells You About a Valve

The Kv value indicates the flow rate of water in m³/h that passes through the component at a pressure loss of 1 bar. Precise pressure loss measurements at different flow rates thus lay the foundations for optimising and selecting valves in industrial installations. Particularly when planning new installations or reviewing existing systems, the Kv value provides a reliable, comparable parameter that allows different valves to be compared objectively.

Added Value for Your Installation

The test bench results enable you to considerably increase the efficiency of the valves used. This reduces operating costs and improves the energy efficiency of your systems in the long term. Especially in installations running continuously over long periods, an optimally designed valve makes a noticeable difference through lower energy consumption and reduced wear over the operating life.

Whether you would like to have an existing valve tested or need the right design when planning a new installation – we will be glad to support you with our test bench measurement in both cases.

  • Standard-compliant measurement in accordance with EN 60534-2-3
  • Precise assessment of flow capacity and flow resistance
  • Basis for a more efficient selection of valves
  • Lower operating costs through better energy efficiency

Frequently Asked Questions about Measurement Services

What is the Kv value and what is it needed for?

The Kv value indicates the flow rate of water in m³/h that passes through a component at a pressure loss of 1 bar. It is a key parameter for selecting and optimising valves.

Up to which nominal size can VENTAIX test valves?

Up to DN150, measured in accordance with EN 60534-2-3.

What benefit does a test bench measurement offer me?

The results show how efficiently a valve actually performs – allowing operating costs to be reduced and the energy efficiency of your installation to be improved in the long term.
